Granny Flat - Auxiliary unit Construction

With limited land releases, Dual occupancy has become very popular. This project has enabled the clients to utilise some of their existing property for an investment for the future.

Planning The New development

Working with the Local Council (Logan City) a proposed building envelope was created that the clients used to determine their maximum footprint available to design this 2 bedroom Auxiliary unit in their backyard. During the design phase 3D rendered images were used to visualise the design.

Construction Commences - Site Cut

After Council Approvals the Construction started - Site Cut was the first step, followed by plumbing before the slab was poured.

Pouring the Slab & Standing the Frames

Using a waffle pod construction method for the foundations with strip footings for the front posts, the concrete was prepped and poured with a concrete pump and concrete trucks.

The pre-fabricated frames were delivered to site and the carpenters stood the frames in position ready for the roof to go on.
